Indian Wells Real Estate

An Indian Village with a Well that became popular during the California
Gold Rush, when stagecoaches & prospectors crossing the Bradshaw Trail (HWY 111 now) to and from the Colorado River, would stop to rest and for the water. It became know as 'Indian Well'.

In the 50s Dezi Arnez opened his Country Club in the city and named it Indian Wells Country Club & Golf Course, adding an 'S' to the name.
When the city was incorporated in 1967, it officially adopted the name of City of Indian Wells.

Indian Wells is the smallest city among the desert resort cities, with a size
of 13.2 sq.miles and a population of around 4000. Yet the City of Indian Wells managed to stay on the Top Ten List of highest per capita income cities in California for years. Having Bill Gates, among other high powered people owning real estate in Indian Wells probably helped the ranking!
